Polar Night Energy Awarded A Honorary Certificate In The International Carbon Handprint Awards
Polar Night Energy was awarded a honorary certificate in The High Potential Carbon Handprint Innovation category.
The International Carbon Handprint Award aims to highlight the solutions that have a major positive climate impact and help economies to reduce emissions or increase carbon sinks significantly. The award, which was introduced in 2022, features two categories: Most Climate Positive Carbon Handprint Product and The High Potential Carbon Handprint Innovation.
“There’s a lot happening in the world in terms of climate positive behaviour, but we are still far behind in what would be needed to keep the planet comfortable for its vast population of living beings. I hope the carbon handprint manages to become a tool that motivates large players to show how much they can do. They can do a lot if there’s a will”, says Polar Night Energy’s Co-Founder Markku Ylönen and continues:
“We are striving to get our technology proven at large scale and to be as widespread as possible, but I hope that it is used rather to ambitiously upscale solar and wind and to even more ambitiously downscale combustion-based technologies than to enable more consumption.”
The competition was open to any company in the world that manufactures products or sells services that help customers to reduce their carbon footprint. The winners were announced on September 21 in New York during the Climate Week NYC conference by awards founders Climate Leadership Coalition and the Vancouver Economic Commission.
